What is workforce development? Why is it important?

Workforce development programs educate and train workers to meet industry needs, promote employment, and remove barriers for job training. Solarize the Triad's workforce training program is an initiative that aims to bolster the clean energy sector, meeting the growing demand for renewable energy, and leveraging funding from the Inflation Reduction Act and Solar for All. The legacy impact of the Solarize the Triad workforce development program will create a robust employment pathway for graduates while providing installation companies access to the skilled labor necessary to meet the growing market needs for years to come.

What does the Solarize the Triad workforce program include?

The Solarize the Triad workforce program is a six week program Monday-Thursday that will include in-person and online coursework, on-site job training, certification opportunities and the chance for an internship with program partner, Renu Energy Solutions. At the completion of the course, participants will have received their OSHA 10 certification and will have the opportunity to take the NABCEP certification free of cost. The first program cohort will be run by Goler Community Development Corporation.The course will be held both online and in-person at Goodwill of Northwest NC. Program seats are limited, sign up now using the link below.

Members of the Solarize the Triad's workforce subcommittee collaborated to capture funding for our fist official cohort. Classes are now in session with more updates to come!
